The United Kingdom, made up of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, is an island nation in northwestern Europe. England – birthplace of Shakespeare and The Beatles – is home to the capital, London, a globally influential centre of finance and culture. England is also site of Neolithic Stonehenge, Bath’s Roman spa and centuries-old universities at Oxford and Cambridge.

The total area of the United Kingdom is approximately 244,820 square kilometres (94,530 sq mi). The country occupies the major part of the British Isles archipelago and includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern one-sixth of the island of Ireland and some smaller surrounding islands. It lies between the North Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea with the southeast coast coming within 22 miles (35 km) of the coast of northern France, from which it is separated by the English Channel.

In 1993, 10 per cent of the UK was forested, 46 per cent used for pastures and 25 per cent cultivated for agriculture. The Royal Greenwich Observatory in London was chosen as the defining point of the Prime Meridian in Washington, DC, in 1884, although due to more accurate modern measurement the meridian actually lies 100 metres to the east of the observatory.

The United Kingdom lies between latitudes 49° and 61° N, and longitudes 9° W and 2° E. Northern Ireland shares a 224-mile (360 km) land boundary with the Republic of Ireland. The coastline of Great Britain is 11,073 miles (17,820 km) long. It is connected to continental Europe by the Channel Tunnel, which at 31 miles (50 km) (24 miles (38 km) underwater) is the longest underwater tunnel in the world

To study in the UK as an international student requires a lot of preparation in terms of financial planning, choice of school and program, the part of the UK you want to be etc. It’s a general knowledge that the UK education is expensive for most international students. While this is true, there are couple of universities with moderate fees payable in installments to ease the burden on students.

International students in the UK are permitted to work 20 hours a week when school is in session and work full time during vacation. This part time work opportunity helps a lot of international students to raise money for their living expenses and tuition fees.

Therefore, if you really have the desire to study in the UK, you can pursue this dream.

Rich Educational Consultant facilitates your UK education by helping choose the right school and program for you based on your finances, circumstances and future aspirations. We would apply to a school on your behalf to obtain admission and consequently help you apply for your student route visa.

You should note that you would have to make a tuition fee deposit of your total fee, usually between £1000-£4000 before you can receive an unconditional offer (abbreviated as CAS) from the school to be able to apply for your study permit.
